The ‘Gallery of Eminent People’ (Galerie osobností) is a set of portraits including some of the most important figures of public life in the Bohemian Lands from 1890 to 1948. It was made throughout the years that the Ateliér Langhans was in existence, as a selection of portraits of the most important of the thousands of people who had their portraits made here. Among them are Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, Antonín Dvořák, Emmy Destinn, Lída Baarová, Paul Claudel, members of the Schwarzenberg family, Charles I, Emperor of Austria-Hungary, and Jan Kubelík. To look after the 9,000 glass negatives of these portraits, the Langhans Prague Foundation was established, and it will also ensure that the portraits are presented to the public.
